MTA/New York City Transit is extending the No. 7 Line Subway services to the area known as Far West Midtown Manhattan. This strategically located area allows for the expansion of the Midtown Manhattan Central Business District, which will in turn, sustain the city’s economic growth and global competitiveness over the next 20 to 25 years.

As part of this 4 year project, started in 2008, RAS was responsible for the initial instrumentation layout and as-built instrumentation plat preparation, daily coordination and reporting of numerous instrumentation monitoring points as well as the daily field survey effort utilizing Local 15D union surveyors. Deliverables include all reports, calculations and recovery sheets for supplemental control established, an instrumentation layout listing as completed and field staked by RS. The layout listing provides a point listing, point identifier, station and offset, northing, easting, and elevation values.
